JUKEBOX HERO *A MEREDITH HEIL MIX*

This mix is inspired by my all time favorite songs to play on the jukebox. The key to a good jukebox play list is dominance -- the longer, the better. I like to stick to classic jams with infectious beats or lolling rhythms, whatever gets those folks at the pool table or crowding the bar to rock back and forth a little. The best jukebox hits are familiar but not too catchy, creatively chosen but not too obscure. You want people to wake up hung over the next morning wondering why they can't get that Prince song out of their heads. Also, drunkenly serenading someone with Bonnie Raitt leaves a pretty lasting mark on your beloved. I'd recommend it.

THE MIGHTY MIX *An Amy Fort, Damian Weber, Hope Farley mastaplan*

Spend an hour and fourteen minutes on the phone with your old best friend and remember instantly what you're about. You forgot you like to talk for hours and that you're funny and that your old best friend is funny and you don't see how everyone can have nothing to talk about. My old girlfriend Liz used to put on this goofy Joan Osborne song every time before she’d go out at night. Song was awesome. That's how I feel now. Don't want to go to sleep tonight cause I don't think I'll survive without symphony number five. The night is a different world. I'm feeling talky again. Thanks! Without my friends I'm a mushy falling-apart wallflower, one of the most flighty disappearingest ever. But if you were here I wouldn't worry about being loud and annoying and dorky. You gave me the night time affirmations. Everything is so the past. I woke up as myself. I'll meet you in the air. You must have to try. I want to feel the permanent revolution. Get knocked out into the open. More-than-ever-please-here-now. I'm going to quit my life and live in my car. I'm going to Google that goofy Joan Osborne song and go out. No I got endless weekend mixes from my friends. The Mighty Mix. I got all these songs make me cry. Make me totally unafraid like when Russell Pascatore lived in Buffalo and we'd get weird.
